Eric Rohmer’s A Tale of Winter follows Félicie, who spends Christmas in Paris with her daughter and two men, Loïc and Maxence. Five years earlier, Félicie lost contact with Charles, the man she loved, with whom she spent an unforgettable summer before they went their separate ways. Although Félicie has moved on with her life, she has never given up hope that Charles might one day return to her life.
The film explores the meaning of love, chance, and faith, as well as how strongly a person can hold on to the possibility of finding a lost love again.
