Fatima on kolmesta tyttärestä nuorin ja hapuilee omaa polkuaan aikuisuuden kynnyksellä. 17-vuotias tyttö tasapainoilee heräävien halujensa, viehtymyksensä naisiin ja rakastavan, uskonnollisen perheen toiveiden välillä. Yliopiston alkaessa Pariisissa Fatimalle avautuu täysin uusi maailma, jossa hän saa ystäviä, ihastuu ja kokee nuoren naisen rakkauden ensimmäistä kertaa omilla ehdoillaan. Kaiken keskellä hän joutuu kohtaamaan ajattoman ja riipaisevan kysymyksen: miten pysyä uskollisena itselleen, kun identiteetin eri puolien sovittaminen yhteen tuntuu mahdottomalta?

La Petite Dernière tells a tender coming-of-age story about a young woman balancing her own emotions with the pressures around her, and finding the courage to discover her own voice amid others’ expectations.
Fatima is the youngest of three daughters, searching for her path on the threshold of adulthood. At 17, she navigates her awakening desires, her attraction to women, and the hopes of her loving, religious family. When she begins university in Paris, an entirely new world opens up to her—she makes friends, falls in love, and experiences romance for the first time on her own terms. In the midst of it all, she must confront a timeless and painful question: how to remain true to herself when reconciling different parts of her identity feels impossible?
The film had its world premiere in the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, where it won the Queer Palm award, and Nadia Melliti received the award for Best Actress.
