Based on a true story, I Swear is a heartfelt and moving story about a young John trying to live a “normal” life in a world that sees him as different.
The film takes you to 1980s Scotland. Fifteen-year-old John is diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome at a time when very little is known about the condition. He faces prejudice and doubt, but with the help of unexpected and kind people, he begins to find ways to cope in society—while also paving the way for greater acceptance of difference.
I Swear is a warm story about courage, finding one’s own voice, and embracing diversity.
