Ukrainalaisten yhdistys Suomessa kutsuu sinut elokuvan “Soldiers of Song” näytökseen Cinema Orioniin 27.04.2025 klo 13:00!
Tämä dokumenttielokuva yhdistää useita koskettavia tarinoita ihmisistä, joiden elämä muuttui täysin sodan vuoksi. Kaikkia elokuvan päähenkilöitä yhdistää musiikki. Mukana on tunnettuja ukrainalaisia laulajia, kuten Sviatoslav Vakartchuk (Okean Elzy), Andrii Hlyvniuk (Boombox), Svitlana Tarabarova ja monia muita.
Avoimet haastattelut ja muusikoiden henkilökohtaiset kertomukset antavat katsojalle mahdollisuuden kurkistaa heidän sisäiseen maailmaansa ja kokemuksiinsa elämisestä venäjän hyökkäyksen varjossa. Jokainen päähenkilö tuo mukaan oman äänensä, muodostaen moniulotteisen tarinan ukrainalaisten henkisestä voimasta, yhtenäisyydestä ja kestävyydestä.
Elokuvan ”Soldiers of Song” maailmanensi-ilta järjestettiin Tribecan elokuvafestivaalilla vuonna 2024. Sen jälkeen elokuvaa on esitetty useilla eurooppalaisilla festivaaleilla, muun muassa Varsovan kansainvälisillä elokuvafestivaalilla ja loppuunmyydyssä näytöksessä Royal Collegessa Lontoossa.
Legendaarinen näyttelijä ja väsymätön aktivisti Sean Penn jakoi omat vaikutelmansa elokuvasta:

Through intimate interviews and personal narratives, each musician contributes a unique piece to the story, weaving together a tapestry of unity and resilience.

The production team has persevered through air raid sirens, power outages, and the echoes of missiles, crafting a narrative that captures the resilience, culture, and spirit of the Ukrainian people. This film is a testament to the enduring power of music and storytelling in times of adversity.
Executive produced by ex-New York Governor George Pataki, who said of the film: ”In times of crisis, music has the power to heal, unite, and inspire. ‘Soldiers of Song’ showcases the unwavering courage and resilience of Ukraine’s musicians, serving as a testament to the human spirit’s triumph over oppression.”
The film also features Metallica’s iconic ballad ”Nothing Else Matters,” performed by Ukrainian pop singer Svitlana Tarabarova. This rendition of the song serves as a poignant reminder of the indomitable spirit of the Ukrainian people, forging a bond that transcends borders and unites hearts in the face of adversity.
