The title refers to a term used by the Israeli military for the number of civilian casualties. The film observes the war in Gaza from the Israeli side of the border. The film moves through memorials to Israel\u2019s earlier military operations and lookout points, which are also popular picnic spots. People come to them with their families to spend time together and to watch the war.The film\u2019s voice-over is built from texts collected from the websites of the filming locations and from Tripadvisor and Google reviews, in which visitors share their experiences of the places seen in the film during the war.The film was shot entirely on black-and-white 16 mm and 35 mm infrared film. Infrared light is invisible to the human eye. On film, the world appears dramatically transformed: the blue sky is black, people\u2019s faces glow white and their eyes are black.
